Northwich Dawn Patrol Inaugral ride 31st December 2025

Today I tested my route for the Northwich Dawn Patrol ride. This is a road ride suitable for all bikes

• Starts at Davenham Roundabout.
• Travels through Kingsmead.
• At Northwich Town Centre it has its first small, but steep hill into Castle.
• From Castle is heads into Weaverham along a main road.
• There it heads back on itself before reaching the bridge at the bottom of Winnington / Barton.
• The route heads up Soot Hill (very steep but short) to Anderton before following the old, closed Warrington Road.
• The route then heads out towards Marton before doubling back towards Northwich via Pickmere and Wincham.
• Here roads lead you through Lostock and Rudheath before joining the A556 on the cycle path back to the roundabout.

The whole route took approximately 1.5hours to complete which would mean, for those that start at Davenham, getting back about 7am.

All roads, except the closed Warrington Road, are lit and should be quiet in the morning.

I’ve set up a Strava Club and set 31st December as the date for the inaugural ride!

Let’s see if anyone joins me. If nothing else I'll have a nice quiet early morning New Years Eve ride! I’m happy to just let the ride / group grow organically but we’ll see what happens.
